Oh Argon, you always say the kindest things.

Indeed, this would be most lovely on you, beloved.

What is the meaning of this?

It means I took your sword and went to Gondolin so it is technically my sword now?

And what of this relation with the one who calls himself Sauron?

What does this have to do with the sword?

I saw a post of him inviting you for some “fun times.” Don’t go meddling with that crowd, is my advice.

What sort of foul technology is this?

I was going to ask you.

#hopefully it was nothing of YOUR creation
I would never create something that seeks to humiliate its user!

I loved cold_fairy’s photo set from earlier today (she made wonderful elves from Lord of the Rings, so please click the link!) I used that dollmaker in the past, for making a character of mine for my stories, but never really thought much about using it for Tolkien. But I went back to it to play around and see if I can make the Fëanorians from it (I’m…half way done I think?) Then noticing the background, I decided to make this instead. Eöl and Aredhel based on this scene from The Silmarillion:

…they wandered far together under the stars or by the light of the sickle moon.

It was very hastily done on Photoshop, but oh well. Wanted the two to hold hands, but then I would have had to find some way to extend the picture. It would take me too long. Anyhow, I wanted Eöl to appear as if he really did come from another culture from Aredhel (to highlight the culture clash and Noldor/Teleri history that choked their relationship.) I also included Eöl’s javelin. In the analysis I am working on for the character, I was considering why he carried around a poisoned javelin. I know that the Fëanorians regularly saw him passing by their land while on his way to meet with the dwarves, and they clearly hated him. They sought for any reason to go after him (and I want to reread that section. The Eöl-Curufin clash is SO fascinating on so many levels. :)  ) Anyhow, the javelin could be to fend himself if he was attacked by the Noldor, or by Morgoth’s fiends. The guy wasn’t one to get involved in the War, keeping to himself in his dark forest of wonders (I think that’s how Angela put it, hahahaha), but at the same time he would be foolish to go around alone and unarmed.

Anglachel its twin was under the control of a man terribly cursed. I do not worry for you. Take care of my sword, for its creation was my pride and joy (beyond my son.)

If you say so…

Wouldn’t you think I am terribly cursed? Sometimes I wonder if it would have been kinder if I was never beget, but it’s far too late now.

Your son…I know how you feel…

((My son was my pride and joy too)) ((Took it for granted)) ((Hope I can be a better father to Ercassë)) ((Such an amazing elf she’s grown to become))

“Atar I don’t think Ammë is capable of responding to you because you just gave her too many feelings.”

/smiles broadly

“Thank you for calling me amazing, Atar!”

Ercassë! Lalinyë! I…well…I’m sorry for rousing such strong emotions in your both. I have a lot of feelings too right now.

#amme is sobbing but she’s saying something on the lines of ‘our pride and joy’ #and ‘so glad he still thinks so’

And I destroyed it! I am such an awful father…I’m awful at everything, actually. *hangs head*

/sniffs

No, Curvo, you’re not awful at everything. You may have had some failings at a father but Tyelpë - “Celebrimbor, Ammë” - grew up to be skilled and strong and a son to be proud of.

Don’t think such things about yourself! You’re a warrior with prowess at the bow and the sword and the dagger and you need your confidence up for the impending battle!

Yes, listen to your wife, Curufin. That kind of attitude will not aid you in this battle.

Foolish elf! The swords were made from a special metaroite. They easily cleave through iron. They contain a mind of their own, and they are immortal. Call for them and you will find these swords. They have properties your enemies know nothing of.

But…but what exactly do I say?! “Here, Fido!”?

Damn you…now I really want these swords, but where do I start? And do I leave my brother alone?

*grins* Precisely. And, do please duck down if you are standing before a window.

“What?!”

But Curufin’s ears did not betray him. He flopped to the ground the moment the sword came crashing through the window, startling Maglor from his sleep for but a moment before he fell back into reverie.

Curufin scrambled to his feet and picked up the sword.

“So this is Anguirel.”

He knew it was one of Eöl’s swords right away. Save for vaguely remembering the unique S-curved quillon, the sword itself glowed from within, full of life. He unsheathed it to study its vibrant blade, seduced by the power within it.

“This…will serve me well,” Curufin said before turning to his laptop. “Er, thank you, and sorry about pissing you off that day. Um…if it is not too much…there are two Avar twins who my brother’s servants once tried to kill….do you think you could…convince them to be on our side instead? They have a huge family with large beasts and birds and…if it’s not too much trouble for you.”

Eöl smiled with a nostalgic tug in his heart, staring at one of his greatest creations now in the hands of that Noldo. But he needed it more than any right now.

"It is loyal to you now, cousin of Aredhel," Eöl said. "You will be protected.

"You mean Eluréd and Elurín? They are my distant cousins, but they will listen to me After all, one of the twins has recently formed a friendship with your lover Anarin. I will speak with them. This is no time to bring back the bitterness of the past.

"Good day to you, Lord Curufin."
